Luther King III – Renowned civil rights activist
and lecturer. President and Chief Executive officer of the
Southern Christian Leadership Conference, serves on the board
of The King Center – Martin Luther King, Jr. Center
for Nonviolent Social Change. Mr. King offered the Friday
morning (October 24th) keynote talk.
Martin
Seligman – A past President of American Psychological
Association. One of the most influential psychologists still
active. Discoverer of learned helplessness, learned optimism,
and educator of numerous influential scientists. Author of
popular books such as Authentic Happiness: Using the New
Positive Psychology to Realize Your Potential for Lasting
Fulfillment (2002), Learned Optimism (1998), The Optimistic
Child (1995). Founder of the positive psychology movement.
Dr. Seligman offered the Saturday morning (October 25th)
keynote talk.
Les
Parrott – Renowned
relationship expert, author of Love the Life You Live,
appearances on most major television
talk shows, invited to Oklahoma by the Governor to direct
the marriage initiative. Professor of psychology at Seattle
Pacific University and co-director of The Center for Relationships
Development, spoke at the banquet held on Friday, October
24th.
