Forgiveness Among Individuals:
Models and Theories of Forgiveness
These research projects use new ways to look at an old problem: "How does forgiveness work?"

"Introduction of a New Model of Forgiveness: Measurement & Intervention"
C. R. Snyder, Ph.D., in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kansas, proposes to test a basic "forgiveness-linkage" model. This will demonstrate the psychometric properties and the construct validity of this Forgiveness Scale. A three-year program is designed to test the "forgiveness-linkage" model using college students and non-students. The ability of the scale to predict life outcomes as they relate to relationships, work, health, and aging will also be explored. Research References

"Forgiveness & Community: A Game of Theoretic Analysis"
David Haskell, Ph.D., at the University of the South, will use the game theory to explore whether living in a community promotes forgiveness among individuals within that community. He seeks to advance the understanding of the conditions which promote the evolution of forgiveness.
